Prologue
At first, we made this game just because we want to test the process of making full game, from tip to toe. Another reason is that we want to try make a clicker/ idle game core, just for fun.
We happened to have about 3 weeks in 2018 Tết Holidays, so we decided to spend 2 weeks to make the game from the scratch, and 1 week to debug and fine-tune the game.
Story and Gameplay
In order to follow a 3-week plan, we had to compromise with many things. Story and Gameplay were simplified to the basic.
So in the end, we had a story about a rich girl who manages an apartment, where all love candidates of her are staying in. She can social with them, and sometimes, try to help them with their problems in order to gain favors, and conquer their love.
But how can she do that? Via the gameplay of course. As in every other clicker games out there, you can tap on screen to gather "heart" (a kind of currency), or just idly waiting in their rooms and the hearts will automatically come out, at slower rate. You can use these hearts to upgrade multiple objects in their rooms, it will help generate more hearts later and unlock secret rewards at full upgrade.
Innovations and Rewards
We did try to change something in order to make it feel "fresh", unlike traditional clicker genre.
For example, we added the stamina system, which will be consumed when you "tap/ click" to actively collect the hearts. This stamina will recover over time and be capped at some max value. Basically, it's just a system use time to gatekeep players. Had to admit though, I feel guilty when thinking about implementing monetization in this experimenting game.
We also prepared the solution to be able to easily add more contents (characters, story routes, etc..) in the game later, in case we need it.
For all the time and efforts of player, if they upgraded all the objects to the max level, they can unlock multiple illustrations, flirty conversations, and in the end, they get confessed by the male character that they chose. Pretty sweet, huh?
